Who we are
At Lower Merion Lacrosse Club, we are passionate about developing multi sport athletes into fundamentally sound lacrosse players who love the game, and to provide a safe and positive atmosphere that breeds grit, competitiveness, determination and tenacity.
Our Program
Lower Merion Lacrosse Club offers a variety of different programs supporting the growth of players at all levels of development. These include the following:
- Fall, winter, and spring skill development clinics
- 1st - 8th grade year long travel programs
- Summer skill development camps
- Specialized goalie and faceoff training
Coaches
Chris Scheuerman is the founder of Lower Merion Lacrosse Club. He grew up in the lacrosse hotbed of Northern New Jersey and had a stick in his hands by kindergarten. As a youth lacrosse player, Chris participated in the N.J. Garden State Games (a four team tournament in which the top youth lacrosse players are broken into four regional teams). Chris was also a member of Team New Jersey which competed against other state all star teams. He went on to play Division I lacrosse, competing in the Patriot League at Colgate University.
Sergio Plesati is LMLC’s Director of Coaching. He played lacrosse at Neumann University, graduating in 2017. Sergio previously coached with the Guardian National Lacrosse Club from 2014-2016, and the Headstrong Lacrosse Club from 2015-2018. In addition to serving as the Director of Coaching for LMLC, Sergio is presently a coach with the Strive Lacrosse Academy and is a varsity coach at Rancocas Valley High School.
John Spear has over thirty years of lacrosse playing experience including playing four years at Hampden Sydney College.
Matt McMillen was a two-time All-American and four-time All-Conference defenseman and long stick middie at Gettysburg College. Matt anchored one of the nation’s top Division III programs, leading the Bullets to two NCAA Championship appearances. Matt has been coaching locally for over 20 years at every level of the game.
Justin Joseph is a former Division I standout at Drexel University. In addition to coaching he also plays professional box lacrosse.
